In this session we will explore provocations such as materials, context, and story as opportunities to prompt student thinking. We will discuss 'watch-fors' in early years mathematics and strategies for moving thinking forward.

    Jen Carter is the K-12 Numeracy Coordinator for SD#22 Vernon, Treasurer for the BCAMT, Adjunct Professor for UBC Okanagan, and author for Pearson's Mathology.  Jen has past experience as an elementary vice principal and was a classroom teacher for 17 years working primarily in grades 1 - 3.  She is also a member of the BC Numeracy Network.
